The international contingency continues to rise with each passing NBA draft and Leandro Bolmaro is eager to soon join that class of players.
Born in Las Varillas, Argentina, Bolmaro is quite used to having to follow in the footsteps of legends, such as Argentina’s “Golden Generation” made up of NBA champion Manu Ginobili, Andres Nocioni, Luis Scola, former Bucks player Carlos Delfino and so on.
After initially playing in the top basketball division his home country with Estudiantes, Bolmaro made the move to Spain to play for Barcelona ahead of the 2018-19 season.
This year, Bolmaro earned minutes, albeit very few, playing in both the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague, and Barcelona head coach Svetislav Pesic even boldly compared the 19-year-old to world class Barcelona soccer superstar Lionel Messi earlier in the season.
