The Milwaukee Bucks accomplished their top goal re-signing young two-way stud Khris Middleton coming off of a career year. First reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Bucks agreed to re-sign Middleton to a five-year, $70 million deal.
At first glance, the deal looks like a dumb one. Giving $14 million a year to a forward that “only” averaged 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game last year seems like an overpay of mass proportions, and an outright desperate move to keep a young talent in an otherwise unappealing market (compared to Miami, Los Angeles, New York, etc).
