Splash Mountain, by all accounts, is taking up a permanent residence with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Ahead of this year’s free agency period kicking off Sunday evening, the Bucks reportedly agreed to re-sign veteran big man Brook Lopez to a four-year, $52 million deal, which was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Standing as one of the Bucks’ core free agents going into free agency, the need to retain Lopez was incredibly pertinent to Milwaukee’s roster construction and current window at contending for an NBA title.
Just a year after standing as one of the free agency bargain signings, Lopez’s arrival in Milwaukee completely transformed the Bucks’ system under head coach Mike Budenholzer with his ability to space the floor and protect the rim to incredibly valuable degrees.
