Giannis Antetokounmpo’s outstanding 2016-17 season grew all the more memorable on Monday night as the Milwaukee Bucks’ All-Star forward picked up the league’s Most Improved Player at the league’s first annual NBA Awards show.
Having already been named to the All-NBA Second Team back in May, and the All-Defensive Second Team earlier on Monday, Antetokounmpo’s latest award is simply the icing on the cake of an individual season that has very few parallels throughout Bucks’ history.
Antetokounmpo wasn’t on hand to accept his award, as he’s currently back home in his homeland of Greece for the recent series of “Antetokounbros” exhibition games alongside his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
