The Memphis Grizzlies enter into a new era with the start of the 2019-20 season, further committing to a rebuild that already looks to have significant early promise.
After finishing last season with 33 wins in Jaren Jackson Jr.’s rookie season, and moving on from Marc Gasol and Mike Conley over the course of the last year, the Grizzlies have leaned in to a larger organizational overhaul that sees them finally move on fully from the remaining cornerstones of the Grit and Grind era.
Landing the second overall pick in the NBA Draft certainly helps to fast track that process to some degree, and the hope for Grizzlies fans will undoubtedly be that Ja Morant will hit the ground running and make for a formidable pair alongside Jackson.
