Out with the old, in with the new. The Milwaukee Bucks have spearheaded their youth movement by overly pointing to the future. Slogans like “Own the Future”, sending Ersan Ilyasova packing for cap space, and a complete, expertly executed re-brand all indicate a major paradigm shift.
On draft night the Bucks shuffled the deck further by trading away future draft picks for Greivis Vasquez and drafting the uber-young Rashad Vaughn–positions currently held by Jerryd Bayless and O.J. Mayo.
Vasquez’s acquisition has been analyzed inside and out; it’s generally agreed he was brought in for shooting as well as mentoring, which can lead to future successful guard play.
