Early Tuesday morning, the Milwaukee Common Council approved the city’s portion regarding the proposed new Milwaukee Bucks arena package in a 12-3 vote in what was the final hurdle in securing the funding for the proposed project.

While other residual items regarding the arena as well as the surrounding entertainment district will go for a separate vote later this fall (including the amendments made last week), the vote marks the end in what’s been a long, arduous process regarding the arena’s financing package.
Shortly after the vote, Bucks President Peter Feigin released a statement regarding the passage of the arena package proposal:
Today is a truly historic day for Milwaukee and Wisconsin, and the culmination of months of hard work from an incredible coalition passionate about our community’s future.
