MILWAUKEE -- A committee of the Milwaukee Common Council has endorsed a $47 million city proposal to help finance a new Milwaukee Bucks downtown arena.
The Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee voted 4-1 Tuesday to recommend approval to the full council, which will review the proposal at its Sept. 22 meeting.
Reports indicate the panel made a major change: One block of North Fourth Street would not be closed permanently for a planned public plaza.
