At pick number 17, the Bucks are definitely priced out of any future stars. Sure, they’ve been able to turn the 15th overall pick in separate years into Giannis and Larry Sanders, but it’s too much to ask that they consistently find high-upside talent in the middle of the draft. This is especially true in a draft class like that of this year, where many players who could’ve been very good, valuable picks for the Bucks at 17 have instead opted to return to school.
For a second, it looked like that was Christian Wood’s choice as well, but the shifting æther of the internet showed those rumors to be just that, and UNLV’s loss could indeed be the Bucks’ gain.
