Building a new downtown arena for the Milwaukee Bucks is no longer simply an idea to be tossed around.
The State Assembly voted to approve $250 million in public financing for the arena on Tuesday, following an earlier favorable vote by the Senate.
Now a few key steps remain before a groundbreaking can take place this fall in the Park East location immediately north of the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Bucks owner Wes Edens said in a telephone interview Wednesday that he was elated with the actions of the Legislature and excited about what will come in the next two years as an arena is constructed.
