St. Francis – Rod Thorn is not the retiring type.
The Milwaukee Bucks are thankful for that, adding the respected NBA executive to their front-office mix by announcing Monday he will serve as a special consultant.
The 74-year-old Thorn recently retired as the league's president of basketball operations and he was a general manager of three NBA teams – the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
Thorn traded for Jason Kidd, now the Bucks coach, a move that helped the Nets make a huge turnaround and reach the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003.
