Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond will remain in his position through the 2017-'18 season after having his contract extended for another season.
A league source confirmed Thursday that Hammond has been signed for another year and will remain as a consultant with the franchise after that deal expires, with a transition in place to allow Justin Zanik to take over as the team's general manager.
Hammond recently took part in the hiring of Zanik as assistant general manager. Zanik was hired by Milwaukee in early June after serving the previous three seasons as assistant general manager of the Utah Jazz.
