CINCINNATI -- Already without regular center fielder Lorenzo Cain, the Brewers lost Christian Yelich to an apparent injury in the middle of the first inning during Thursday's series opener against the Reds.
The Brewers announced Yelich left the game with lower back tightness.
Yelich, manning center field while Cain is on the 10-day disabled list with a groin injury, grounded out to first base before being replaced by Keon Broxton defensively in the bottom of the inning.
It began a rough sequence for the Brewers, as starter Junior Guerra promptly surrendered a leadoff home run to Reds shortstop Jose Peraza, and Tucker Barnhart followed with a line drive that got past right fielder Eric Thames.
