MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers opened Players' Weekend by scoring four runs in the first inning off Pirates starter Joe Musgrove in Friday's series opener at Miller Park through a pair of two-run homers.
Lorenzo Cain (Lo Cain) opened the frame with a ground-rule double to right-center field, and Christian Yelich (Yeli) then jumped on the first pitch he saw from Musgrove, a slider, and hit it off the scoreboard in center field. Statcast™ projected the ball traveled 421 feet and left Yelich's bat at 108 mph.
The clout was Yelich's 22nd of the season, which gives him a career high.
