In the grand scheme, a starting pitcher going six innings would not be cause for celebration. When the pitcher is Wily Peralta and the team is the Milwaukee Brewers, however, it falls just short of ticker-tape parade-worthy.
Peralta’s six-inning stint Sunday in an 8-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies was not a work of art, but at least he painted between the lines, allowing three earned runs and earning his first victory of 2016.
It was the first time this season that Peralta made it out of the fifth inning and just the eighth time a Brewers starter made it to the sixth.
