Travis Shaw's Newborn Daughter Stable After Open-Heart Surgery Complications

Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw was forced to leave the team last weekend to accompany his family while his daughter underwent open-heart surgery.

He explained the situation Tuesday, via Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

"She was born with a severe heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. It's a pretty severe heart deformation. We knew this going in and I knew that she was going to have to have surgery.

She had open-heart surgery on Friday. There were some complications and they had to go back in Saturday for a couple more surgeries.
