With Major League Baseball's July 31 non-waiver trading deadline fast approaching, and with Doug Melvin's tenure as Milwaukee Brewers general manager likely coming to an end, what better time to analyze some of the deals he made.
Or, more specifically, the best deals he made.

Traded infielder/outfielder Matt LaPorta, pitcher Zach Jackson, pitcher Rob Bryson and outfielder Michael Brantley to the Cleveland Indians for pitcher CC Sabathia (left). Melvin acquired the left-hander just prior to the all-star break and he was simply marvelous in his short stint with the Brewers, going 11-2 with a 1.
