ST. LOUIS -- Eric Thames got just enough of an Adam Wainwright sinker, drilling the pitch for his fifth homer of the season.
It just eluded the outstretched glove of right fielder Harrison Bader to give the Brewers a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning at Busch Stadium on Wednesday. The ball actually hit the top of Bader's glove before going over the wall. According to Statcast™, the long ball had a 43-degree launch angle, the highest on an over-the-fence home run in the Majors so far this season.
