MILWAUKEE -- Eric Thames led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run and hit a three-run shot with two outs in the ninth, but the Brewers' rally fell just short in a 10-9 loss to the Phillies on Sunday at a steamy Miller Park.
Milwaukee entered the bottom of the ninth inning with a four-run deficit, but Jesus Aguilar led off the frame with a solo home run off Phillies right-hander Hector Neris, and Thames hit his three-run shot later in the inning with two outs. That prompted the Phillies to turn to Jake Thompson, who ended the game by retiring Christian Yelich on a flyout to deep center field.
