After a marathon three-game Cactus League road trip, the Maryvale Nine are finally back home for their first game at the new American Family Fields of Phoenix.
Zach Davies makes his second appearance of the spring after throwing 12 pitches in the spring opener on Saturday, although it will be his first start.
He faces a Padres lineup that does not yet contain Manny Machado, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still hope Machado steps on a scorpion or pricks his finger on a cactus. Someone who will be in the San Diego lineup, though, is prospect Fernando Tatis, Jr.
