Earlier this year, during the regular season, there was some speculation about a possible mutual interest between Milwaukee Brewers’ GM David Stearns and the New York Mets for their vacant general manager position, but that never materialized.
There has been reported interest in former Brewer GM Doug Melvin (New York) and assistant Matt Arnold (San Francisco), and bench coach Pat Murphy was recently linked to the Texas Rangers’ managerial position.
These things happen when an organization has success, and when the success extends to two seasons - meaning that it presumably isn’t a fluke - it occurs more frequently.
