Kansas City, Mo.— Ned Yost made Kansas City Royals history on Thursday night at the expense of his former employer.
By virtue of his team's 3-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at Kauffman Stadium, Yost passed Whitey Herzog to become the winningest manager in Royals history.
Yost, who skippered the Brewers from 2003 until his firing late in the 2008 season, now sports a 411-427 record after his team rapped out 11 of its 13 hits and all three of its runs against Milwaukee starter Jimmy Nelson.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, has lost six consecutive games and eight straight to the Royals dating to 2007.
