The scoring started in the second inning. Avisail Garcia got the Brewers on the board first, hitting a home run into the Brewers bullpen to give them the early 1-0 lead.
That would give the Brewers the lead until the sixth inning. The Giants countered with their own home run then, as Brandon Belt hit one out to right field to tie the game at 1-1.
