Cheryl Lorenzen on son's journey
More info
No one knows how hard players work to get to the big leagues better than the parents. And often parents are even more happy and excited than the players themselves. That was certainly the case Wednesday night when Cincinnati Reds pitcher Michael Lorenzen made his big-league debut.
Lorenzen, a first-round pick in 2013, took the mound against the Milwaukee Brewers and his mom, Cheryl, and brother, Matthew, traveled all the way from California to be there for the game.
