Eight players on the Milwaukee Brewers' roster played with Craig Counsell at some point in their careers, making it more than a bit unusual to now be playing for the team's new manager.
Rightfielder Ryan Braun admitted it was "weird" talking to a former teammate as his manager. Though he once joked around with Counsell daily and considered him an equal, Braun maintained there will be no question moving forward about who will be calling the shots.
"Oh, no," he said. "Everybody respects him. When he was a player he was basically a player-coach, especially his last few years, he was essentially an additional coach as well as being a player.
