As he began to put together what figures to be an extensive to-do list as the new general manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, David Stearns had a simple yet logical starting point.
"Step 1 is to figure out where my office is going to be," he said.
Hopefully, it comes with a comfortable chair because Stearns has a lot of work to do in returning the Brewers to competitive mode. He doesn't actually start his new job until Oct. 5, which gives him a couple of weeks to get his feet wet.
Between now and opening day 2016, Stearns has many tasks to tackle, with little margin for error if wants to move the franchise forward after this dreadful season.
