MILWAUKEE -- Sean Rodriguez and the Pirates moved up in the National League Wild Card standings on Wednesday with another wire-to-wire win over the Brewers at Miller Park.
Andrew McCutchen hit a towering solo home run before Rodriguez's two-run single made it a three-run first inning for the Pirates against Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson. Rodriguez hit a long solo homer in the fourth as Pittsburgh topped Milwaukee, 4-1, and moved ahead of Miami in the Wild Card race. The Pirates are within 3 1/2 games of the Cardinals and Mets, who each lost earlier in the day and fell into a tie for the second Wild Card spot, pending the outcome of the Giants' game against the Dodgers.
