Baseball America has named the Milwaukee Brewers as their 2018 Organization of the Year. The award goes out to organizations that have generally exceeded expectations, and as Baseball America notes, the Brewers certainly exceeded expectations.
In 2015, the Brewers started a complete tear down of their franchise. Then General Manager Doug Melvin started the rebuild process before stepping down, the organization moved on from its manager and appointed Craig Counsell, and it started to eject stars like Carlos Gomez.
Fast forward just three years and the Brewers usurped the Cubs as division leaders, came within a single win of the World Series and had the league MVP.
