Tonight’s a night that I have been waiting a long time for. After watching and listening to Milwaukee Brewers’ pitching prospect, Jorge Lopez dominate the Southern League all season, he will make his much anticipated debut in the Brewers’ rotation. While he is making the jump from AA, here is why the 22-year-old starter could be the best home-grown pitcher that team has had since Ben Sheets.
To say that Lopez owned the Southern League would be an understatement. He flatout controlled the opposition all year long. Finishing the year second in the league in ERA, (one point below Shuckers’ teammate, Tyler Wagner) Lopez was nearly unhittable all year long as he was named the Southern League pitcher of the year.
