Phillips, who has been absolutely tearing the cover off of the baseball in Triple-A with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, owns an impressive line of .297/.369/.589 with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs.
Last year in Double-A Biloxi, Phillips did not fare too well. He slashed .229/.332/.397 with 16 home runs and 62 RBIs.
He has almost eclipsed his 2016 statistics, and it’s only the beginning of June.
This promotion is definitely a very exciting surprise for the Milwaukee Brewers. It should take the sting out of losing third baseman Travis Shaw for a few days.
