Matt Garza won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell confirmed after his team's 12-3 opening loss Monday to the San Francisco Giants.
Garza left his last start on Friday — an exhibition game in Houston — with tightness in his right shoulder in the fourth inning. Counsell said after that game Garza wasn't expected to miss a start, but a Monday examination of Garza's shoulder by team physician William Raasch convinced the Brewers to change course.
With Garza out at least temporarily, Taylor Jungmann moves up a day and takes his place against the Giants.
