Scottsdale, Ariz.— For the second time in just a few days, a candidate for the Milwaukee Brewers' bullpen has been removed from the running because of an injury.
Manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday left-hander Sean Nolin is in the middle of a seven-day shutdown period to rest an ailing elbow. Counsell said Nolin would be re-evaluated after the off-day Wednesday but indicated he would not have enough time to make the bullpen out of spring camp.
"He's in trouble, too," said Counsell. "He's not going to be part of the choices we have to make.
