Phoenix — When the Milwaukee Brewers acquired catching prospect Jacob Nottingham from Oakland in the Khris Davis trade, there was speculation whether the 6-foot-2, 232-pounder was too big to stay behind the plate.
Manager Craig Counsell quashed that notion Friday.
"He's going to be a catcher," said Counsell. "There's no question in anybody's mind he's going to be a catcher. He has made improvements since he has been here."
Counsell and his coaching staff have been impressed with how Nottingham has handled his first big-league camp as the youngest player on hand.
