Following a 13-2 blowout on Wednesday night, the goal for the Brewers going into tonight’s game was to put it behind them and play today. That’s exactly what they did. A day after allowing 13 runs, they shutout the Giants 3-0.
Frankie Montas was on his game tonight. After a few straight starts allowing 3+ runs, he didn’t allow any in six innings tonight. In total, he allowed four baserunners on two hits and two walks. He also had eight strikeouts.
It wasn’t without a bit of stress, though. The Giants had runners in scoring position in the fourth following back-to-back walks by Montas.
