Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson was to remain hospitalized for a second night for observation after he took a line drive off his head Thursday.
The good news was the decision was made out of an abundance of caution rather than because of a setback.
"It's just precautionary," manager Craig Counsell said Friday before his team's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds at Miller Park.
"Just a head contusion, and they just want to make sure everything is 100% before he walks out the door. He does not have a concussion. He wasn't diagnosed with a concussion.
