One of the reasons the Brewers have limited their September call-ups thus far is they didn't want to break up the playoff-bound Class AA Biloxi Shuckers.
Had the Brewers summoned more players from Class AAA Colorado Springs, already sporting an injury-thinned roster, it would have necessitated moving up players from Biloxi to fill in. Instead, the Brewers want the Shuckers at full strength as they vie for the Southern League championship in playoffs that begin Thursday.
The Brewers figure Biloxi deserves that chance after opening the season with a marathon 55-game road trip while awaiting the completion of construction-delayed MGM Park.
