The Milwaukee Brewers had an excellent week. They swept last year’s champs, the Texas Rangers, got a day off, and then won two of three against their bitter rivals, the Chicago Cubs. They passed the halfway point of their season last week, and at the start of play on Monday, they’re 16 games over .500 and hold a 6.5-game lead in the NL Central.
The Colorado Rockies, meanwhile, are not having an excellent week, or month, or year. (Or decade?) One of the league’s more puzzling teams currently sits at 28-55, which is the worst record in the National League and second-worst in all of baseball, behind only the Chicago White Sox.
