Coming off of a disappointing series in Miami, the Milwaukee Brewers will start a three-game series in Boston this evening to wrap up their current nine-game, 10-day road trip. The Brewers will “start” Jared Koenig in this one, though he is functioning as an opener for Bryse Wilson. For the Red Sox, Kutter Crawford will be on the mound.
Crawford, who is 28 and right-handed, has had a terrific season. In 10 starts he has thrown 58 innings with a 2.17 ERA (194 ERA+), struck out 57, and walked 18. He is currently tied for fifth in the majors in Baseball Reference’s WAR for pitchers.
