Phoenix — It's easy to describe what the participants get out of Brewers Fantasy Camp. They get to suspend their real lives for a week and experience what life is like for a major-leaguer.
From the uniforms to the clubhouse spread to the training room, it's a pretty close reproduction of the bigs, at least outside the lines.
But what do the coaches get out of it? Sure, they get paid for coaching a bunch of talent-challenged, middle-aged men. But if this wasn't fun for them, they wouldn't come back year after year.
"Just being around the camaraderie of a team, that's the part of baseball you miss the most," said Fernando Viña, who played second base for the Brewers from 1995 to '99.
