Chicago — Baseball can be an unpredictable game.
What happened when the Chicago Cubs sent ace Jake Arrieta to the mound against the undermanned Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night was quite predictable, however.
Arrieta dominated the Brewers as anticipated, tossing a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts as the rampaging Cubs captured a 4-0 decision at Wrigley Field. It was 10th loss in 11 games for the Brewers and 13th in 16 games.
The victory gave Arrieta 20 victories, making him the first Cubs pitcher to reach that plateau since Jon Lieber in 2001. Arrieta is the first 20-game winner in the majors this season.
