When the game came to an end Monday night at Miller Park — or appeared to anyway — on a close play at first base, Brewers manager CraigCounsell saw no reason not to challenge it.
"There's no harm in doing it," said Counsell. "I didn't wait for (coach) Jerry (Narron) to talk on the phone (to the video coordinator). It was close, so I asked for replay."
The call stood, JonathanLucroy was out at first base and the Marlins had their 6-2 victory. It's odd when the end of a game is temporarily halted for replay, but Counsell said it has been live-and-learn with the new system.
