It became apparent in the final weeks of the regular season that Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich would likely win the National League Most Valuable Player award.
It’s now official, as Yelich has become the fourth player in franchise history to be voted MVP by the Baseball Writers Association of America, joining Robin Yount, Rollie Fingers and Ryan Braun.
It wasn’t even close, as Yelich collected 29 of the 30 first place votes, with the only other first place vote going to the New York Mets’ Jacob deGrom.
