Chris Carter off to better start with Brewers

A quizzical grin crossed Chris Carter's face as he was asked the question.

Did he remember the way he started 2015 with the Houston Astros?

"I remember it," he said Friday afternoon. "That's not very nice."

The affable first baseman wasn't really offended. Still, he was quick to acknowledge it was a difficult beginning to what would be his final year in Houston.

Carter hit his first home run of 2015 on April 22 but was otherwise mired in a horrible slump that included a .122 average, .218 on-base percentage and .402 OPS to go along with just two runs batted in, numbers certainly not befitting of a middle-of-the-order slugger.
