Phoenix — This story is not new. It first was reported when Chase Anderson pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014.
But, for Brewers fans who don't know much about the 28-year-old right-hander, one of 16 players acquired by rebuilding Milwaukee over the off-season, it's worth retelling how Anderson continues to honor his late father, Robert.
When he takes the mound for each start, Anderson scratches his father's initials in the dirt on the back of the mound. But the personal tribute goes far beyond that public gesture.
En route to the ballpark before each home start, Anderson wears the same outfit — pink polo shirt, washed-out Wrangler jeans, socks, Western boots and belt.
