The Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals faced off for the final time of the 2021 regular season on Thursday afternoon, in a game that meant nothing for either team as their postseason scenarios have basically been set in stone. But Brett Anderson still took the mound and faced off against JA Happ, and the Cardinals got on the board first in the second inning.
Nolan Arenado got things going with a leadoff single, then he moved up to third when Paul DeJong doubled. Jose Rondon lofted a sacrifice fly to center, pushing the Cardinals ahead 1-0. In the top of the third, Milwaukee tied things up with a Luis Urias solo shot.
