The best individual pitching performance of the week belongs to Freddy Peralta, the staff ace, who threw six scoreless innings on Friday night in a game that the Brewers won 2-1 in extra innings. Peralta struck out seven, walked two, and allowed just four hits; he was cruising until there were two outs in the sixth, where he hit a snag but worked his way out of trouble.
A special shout out, however, must go to Bryan Hudson, who made two scoreless appearances this week. He didn’t allow a hit while recording seven outs in the Brewers’ bullpen-game shutout on Wednesday against the Padres, then pitched 2 1⁄3 more innings, these perfect with four strikeouts, on Sunday in another shutout, earning the win in relief.
