Chicago – The Milwaukee Brewers were swept by the Chicago Cubs for the second consecutive series on Thursday afternoon – and in very ugly fashion.
They surrendered a season-high-tying five home runs, including three in the decisive fifth inning and two to rookie Kyle Schwarber, en route to a 9-2 drubbing on a sunny, breezy afternoon at Wrigley Field.
Dexter Fowler, Anthony Rizzo and Chris Denorfia also homered as the Brewers fell to their National League Central rivals for the eighth consecutive time and for the fifth time in six games overall.
Rookie Tyler Cravy allowed a pair of singles and three walks through four innings before the Cubs broke open a 1-1 game.
