Brewers stymied by Cardinals once again

The Milwaukee Brewers closed out the first half of the season in familiar fashion – with another frustrating loss at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals.

A first-inning run was all the Brewers could muster against Mike Leake, and Junior Guerra wasn't especially sharp in an eventual 5-1 defeat at the hands of their perennial tormentors on Sunday afternoon at Miller Park.

Milwaukee struck out 12 times against Leake and two relievers in dropping to 3-9 against St. Louis this year. In seven of those losses, the Brewers have been shut out or scored just one run.
