Brewers sign Chamberlain to Minors contract

The Brewers signed reliever Joba Chamberlain to a Minor League deal on Tuesday, and the right-hander will be in Spring Training as a non-roster invitee.

In 20 games with the Indians last season, Chamberlain compiled a 2.25 ERA. A 10-year veteran, he also has played with the Yankees, Tigers and Royals, and has a career 3.81 ERA in 385 games.

Chamberlain, 31, was the Yankees' first-round Draft pick in 2006 and reached the big leagues the next season, posting a 0.38 ERA in 19 relief appearances. He moved into the rotation for two seasons in 2008-09 with New York, then switched back to the bullpen.
