Cincinnati — Matt Garza's start Saturday afternoon in the opener of a doubleheader against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park was his last for 2015.
Manager Craig Counsell said after the Milwaukee Brewers' 8-6 victory — a game in which the right-hander received a no-decision and didn't pitch well — that Garza was being removed from the rotation so that the team could look at some of its younger pitchers the rest of the season.
"I think it's important that we get Matt ready for 2016," said Counsell. "He's going to be a member of the rotation in 2016, and we're going to just push the stop button right now.
